Untitled (Bard Mwendwa)

It’s safe to say that I broke our promise,
The one that goes, “I promise not to leave,”
But then who I’m I kidding,
You brought this on yourself,
What’s there to be sorry?

I couldn’t stand having you for the night,
and losing you to him for the day.

To have you laugh at his jokes,
while holding hands,
I headed to insanity!
Yet you gladly lied about it,
Saying, “He’s just a good friend.”
And I a fool falling for it,
Now, you say I betrayed you and left
Good thinking, how about how I felt?

So, my love; goodbye
Dare not say I broke your heart,
You shattered mine, and thus I leave.

I hope he makes you happy.
